The Flea Market

by Arnold Burian

I was walking through the Maxwell Street flea market in Chicago when I happened upon a vendor offering watch repair services. His stand had a sign that said, “WE CHANGE BATTERYS AND REPAIR ALL MAKES OF WATCHS HEAR.”

I immediately declared a tech doc emergency and approached him to offer my services. I said, “Kind sir, your sign is projecting the wrong image for your business. You have misspelled words, incorrect grammar, and word substitution errors. Also, using all caps makes it sound like you are shouting.” Because I am a kind person, I offered to address his issues at my hourly rate of $75 per hour.

He spat on the ground and told me to keep walking if I didn’t want any trouble.

Score one for tech doc.
