MSWord getting familiar among writers

Microsoft Word is common and flexible for editing the documents compare with other tools. Created a document by using other technical tools, that makes complicated to non-technical folks while editing. They are not familiar with other tools than word hence they prefer word as technical writing tool.

Word is a smart and powerful replacement for a typewriter. However, it also has similar limitations when it comes to functionality like reuse of content and single source publishing. It also is mostly misunderstood as most of its complexity is not obviously visible, thus a lot of users only think that they “know” how to work with Word (as Paul already outlined).

So if you mean business maintaining a technical documentation, leave Word to all gents who need to get something written down instantly. And get, i.e., an applicable authoring tool that suits your needs.
